Thorunn Devoy: Loyalty, Data, and the Power of Ecosystem Synergy

Episode Overview

Wrapping up in Berlin with incredible partner energy! 🇩🇪

Asher, Chris, and I made our final stop on the PL European Tour in Berlin—and what a way to finish! At ultimate.ai’s HQ, we gathered with 50+ incredible partner leaders to close out a week filled with insights, connection, and momentum for the future of partnering.

I was thrilled to sit down with Thorunn Devoy, VP of Partnerships at Talon. One, who joined us as a panelist and shared fantastic perspectives on building high-impact partnerships.

Thorunn walked us through how Talon. One’s partner strategy is anchored in customer value—starting with what brands need to succeed with their promotions and loyalty programs. Whether it’s surfacing and activating customer data via tech integrations or supporting execution through a robust network of agencies and SIs, Talon. One builds with a clear purpose: enablement at every step of the journey.

She emphasized the importance of:

  • Technology partnerships that unlock customer data and enhance personalization
  • Implementation partners who help brands design and optimize their loyalty programs
  • Joint value creation—not just co-selling, but creating synergies across the stack

It’s a great example of how modern ecosystem leaders are thinking beyond transactions—toward shared outcomes for customers, partners, and their own teams.

Huge thanks to Thorunn for the thoughtful conversation—and for helping to close out an unforgettable tour. From Paris to Berlin, one thing was clear: this community is full of passionate, smart, and collaborative leaders who are redefining what it means to drive partner-led growth.

Next stop: Catalyst in Denver, August 21–23—we’ll see you there!

Yes, okay, we are here@ultimate.ai in Berlin, and we just had a fantastic event here with so many partner leaders. We had about maybe 50 or 60 people here tonight, really engaged crowd. And I'm excited to be joined by Tharun Devou and Tharun is head of partnerships globally for talent one, and you are also a panel member tonight. So thank you for doing that, for joining us.

Thorunn Devoy  0:28
Yeah, thank you for having me chip and thanks for moderating. Yeah,

Chip Rodgers  0:33
it was fun. So I'd love to just hear a little bit about the partnerships at talent one, what's this partner strategy? And how are you? How do you? How do you think about partnering at Talon one? Yeah,

Thorunn Devoy  0:48
absolutely. So at talent one, we help our customers manage their promotions and loyalty programs. So the way we defined our partner program and our partner strategy was really look at what do our customers need to be successful in what they're trying to achieve. And when companies are launching a new loyalty program or enhancing their existing ones, there are kind of two different components that they need. They need access to their different type of data, customer data or product data, and they also need a way to communicate with their customers and engage them. So a big component of our partner program are our technology partnership partners, and our strategy there is identifying the key technology partners and build integrations that will make it easier for our customers to get their existing data into our product, but also have to craft personalized experiences to their customers and deliver them and as we have a lot of different customers depending on their level of maturity, and some customers have the knowledge and expertise in house. Others need a little bit of help, so we also have a robust network of implementation partners, agencies and sis that can then help our customers design and implement and also maintain their program and optimize it.

Chip Rodgers  2:21
Oh, that's fantastic. So, so what are if you think about sort of the value for partnering, for both for talent one and for your partners and for customers? How do you think about

Thorunn Devoy  2:32
that? So I think it's about creating a win, win situation for all three parties. We try to, like, qualify and only partner with the companies that we think are going to deliver value to our customers, and whether actually it's a demand or there might be new use cases that can increase that value that we're driving for customers. And so I think on the technology side, it's like, how do we activate the different platforms that and allow the customer to maximize the value? Because obviously, they've made investment in these different technology pieces, and they want to see how they all come together and deliver the most value for them. Because they're Yeah, I think more than ever now, brands are really looking at ROI before making technology investments. So yeah, we think about that from the technology perspective and on the implementation side. We not only are looking at our partners to help us drive new business, but we also look at ways that we can bring business back to our partners, or if we can create some joint marketing activities that will generate new business for both of us,

Chip Rodgers  3:53
for both of you, exactly. That's great. And I love the concept of having a joint value proposition that use case where both you're delivering more value to your both of your end customers,

Thorunn Devoy  4:06
exactly. And then we try to try out So work with the technology partners that also overlaps with the implementation partner and us. So when a new partner comes, it's not just implementing talent one, but they're implementing also other partners products, and they're coming with a proposed stack love that. Yeah, so that's how we try to create synergies, introductions, but also, if we have a new business opportunity, we can bring multiple parties in instead of just one.

Chip Rodgers  4:43
That's fantastic. Tarun, thank you so much. Things are winding down here, and I'm getting signals that, Hey, you gotta wrap things up here. So it's been fantastic. And really, again, appreciate you joining the panel tonight and sharing so many insights. And I know the audience in. Enjoyed your contribution as well and throne. Thank you for joining. Thank you for having me. Thank you. Yeah, thank you all for joining, and we'll see you next time we're gonna take.
