From Paris to London: Global Lessons in Partner-Led Growth

Episode Overview

All aboard! 🚄

Asher Mathew and I caught up at the Gare du Nord train station in Paris, just before hopping on the Eurostar to London — next stop on the Partnership Leaders European Tour.

We’re still buzzing from an incredible night in Paris, where over 100 partner professionals gathered for what may have been the largest partnerships-focused event ever held in the city. The energy, the community, and the conversations were inspiring.

Asher noted something powerful: partner leaders in Europe face many of the same challenges as their counterparts in the U.S. — from getting internal buy-in, to securing budget, to navigating co-sell and resell motions. The difference? The scale, not the struggle.

We had a great time discussing everything from partner-led growth and executive alignment to how co-sell, resell, and referrals intersect in high-performing partner programs. And of course, there was a bit of live debate (shoutout to Russell from HubSpot!) — because when the community comes together with honesty and trust, sparks fly.

Our mission is simple: elevate partnerships globally. That means empowering local communities, sharing learnings, and showing up wherever partner leaders are building the future.

Next up: London, Manchester, Amsterdam, and Berlin. Each city brings new conversations, new insights, and new connections.

Big thanks to everyone who joined us in Paris and to our amazing partners — WorkSpan, Reveal, PartnerHacker, and many others — who are helping make this movement real.

📍Follow along as we continue the tour — and if we’re in your city, join us!

here we are, but here we are, we are, we are in. We are in garden ord in Paris. And trains are actually boarding. Let me just show you what's happening behind us. Everyone's getting on board the train. So sorry to give you a little vertigo there, but the Yeah, so everything's happening, and we had a fantastic event last night. It was amazing. Over 100

Asher Mathew  0:33
people show up to our event, and this was the largest partnerships focused event in Paris, I have to say, like when I landed, it's my first time in Paris, the city kind of grew up on me. I actually really enjoyed my time there. But what we heard from partner people at the event was they have similar challenges like the US teams have. They also want to learn how to get more budget. They also want to make sure that their executives understand how partnerships work, and so, so it was interesting to see that the challenges aren't different. It's just the scale of the challenges is different. And but there are teams of partnerships, teams that are 4050, people strong here in your even in Paris, yeah.

And I was, it was really exciting to see the to see the turnout and and engagement people were it was, it was a real community coming together and and it's amazing what partnership leaders has done and expanding to a global reach like this. So

Asher Mathew  1:36
we had fun telling people how cold selling works, how cold selling comes together with reselling and referrals. And, you know, like, how do you increase the impact of your partner program? That's that's what we're here to learn.

Chip Rodgers  1:48
It was fantastic. So we are, why are we at the train station? Because we are headed, we're gonna go under the we're heading for the Chunnel. We're going under the channel. We're on euros. Here. You're a star. We're getting on Eurostar, and it's like a two hour trip, and we'll be in London shortly, in a couple hours. So

Asher Mathew  2:07
yeah, and again, I want to emphasize that our goal at partnership leaders is to work with all the local communities around the world, work with them, empower them, support them, whatever is needed so that we can elevate partnerships globally. We're not going to do this alone and and thank you to like work span and partner reveal and all other companies that are working with us to elevate partnerships around the world. It's truly an amazing thing. I hope you all were there because we actually got into a live debate and but it was a very live and lively, yeah, live and lively. Yeah? True. True, true. Shout out to Russell from HubSpot, you know, for for holding his ground. But you know, the these events have a spark. They have a sense of closeness and a sense of trust, a sense of transparency, and so, I mean, it was just a very different event. I really enjoyed it, and I hope all of the folks that came enjoyed it, and now we're off to London to do it all over again. And I think there's 250 people signed up for this event. And you know, we should probably stop calling them meetups, because, like, a 250 event person, it's not a meetup anymore. Yeah. So looking forward to seeing you all there. Yeah,

Chip Rodgers  3:15
see you in London and see you in Manchester on Thursday, and then Amsterdam and Berlin on Tuesday and Thursday next week. All right, I think that's it. We got to get on the train. See you. Bye.
